October 4 at Civic Center Park in Denver

October 3–4 in Estes Park
Head to Estes Park to experience the beautiful annual phenomenon. Watch as elk gather just at the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park to show off for the start of the breeding season. At Elk Fest, visitors learn about elk behavior and can see performances by American Indians.

At Applefest, more than 150 vendors share the area’s agricultural wealth with visitors, who can also check out a classic car and antique tractor show, bands and much more.

Already famous for film, Telluride is also embracing the spooky fun of October with this sixth-annual horror, fantasy and sci-fi film fest in the town’s historic Sheridan Opera House.

Craft distillers descend in Breckenridge for the Craft Spirits Festival, which features a grand tasting, restaurant specials, a downtown pub craw, more. Sip the best offerings from small-batch, artisan distillers and learn more about the distilling process in Breckenridge, a town with its own pioneering distillery.
